QUINTESSENCE - PROTOTYPE

A SOUND-SHAPED WATER EXPERIENCE by VESNA PETRESIN

funded by the Film Commission Bavaria (FFF)

Synaesthetica is delighted to develop a prototype of an Extended Realities-experience in collaboration with transdisciplinary artist VESNA PETRESIN. Petresin who creates and performs multimedia content, experiences for performing arts as well as science programmes, conceived the concept, image worlds and soundscape for QUINTESSENZ.

QUINTESSENZ presents a prototype for an immersive knowledge journey: within the framework of an XR-installation, the human relationship to water as well as the power of sound are thematized. Via sound installation, a VR-experience as well as AR-elements, phenomena of kymatics and sonofusion are presented acoustically and visually - a multisensory experience that reflects the cosmic symphony as well as the beauty and power of nature.

The inspiration for QUINTESSENZ is provided by the phenomenon of kymatics, Nikola Tesla's view of energy as a fluid, and the process of acoustically induced fusion to generate clean energy from water called sonofusion. Through different media layers, such as visuals and sound in real space, visitors get a glimpse into the world of water. QUINTESSENZ combines art, technology and education. Thus, QUINTESSENZ is to be seen as an "experienceable" enrichment not only in the artistic-aesthetic sense, but also with regard to education.
